AHCA Advertising Campaign

The AHCA Council of States voted today to approve a $15M sustained advertising campaign (see attached overview) directed at securing additional funds and greater public and political support for skilled nursing and assisted living providers. The NYSHFA Board voted unanimously yesterday to support this campaign with its vote at the AHCA Council of States meeting. As you are aware, AHCA has been successful to date in securing several key initiatives for providers, including obtaining $2.5B in the first tranche of Federal provider relief funds and $4.9B in the most recent $50K per facility/$2,500 per bed SNF allocation from HHS. 

Through this advertising campaign, AHCA and its media partner Plus Communications plan to enhance the reputation of our industry, secure funding for skilled nursing and assisted living providers (including securing enhanced funding for those facilities most impacted by COVID-19), as well as secure Congressional support for Federal COVID-19 immunity protections. Additionally, AHCA has committed to NYSHFA/NYSCAL that this campaign can be tailored in certain media markets to address New York specific issues. In order to support this initiative, skilled nursing providers will be directly billed a $10 per bed assessment by AHCA in 2020 and 2021 to cover two-thirds of the costs of this campaign. AHCA and certain vendor partners will cover the remaining one-third of the cost of the campaign. Through this campaign, AHCA and Plus Communications will continue to drive a targeted message in order to meet the unprecedented demands imposed upon skilled nursing and assisted providers during this historic pandemic.
